  10. A Mac font converted for use for Pcs with Windows 3.1 in TrueType format.  
  11. Thanks to input and requests by registered users of MarkerFeltThin and  
  12. MarkerFeltWide for a "finer"  version of the MarkerFelts......I created  
  13. MarkerFinePoint.  A Type 1 upper and lower case display font,  
  14. MarkerFinePoint makes typed messages look spontaneously hand lettered--  
  15. gives copy urging immediacy a casual, personal touch by looking hand  
  16. written with an fine-point felt marker.  
  17.   
  18. Use for eye-catching notices, ad display or to convey spontaneous, impulsive  
  19.  expression for a  "take notice" effect.  Instead of reaching for a trusted  
  20.  (hopefully capped) felt-tip pen loaded with permanent ink to scrawl  
  21.  impulsive messages, reach for the keyboard and click away.

  23. To Install: Once in Windows 3.1 launch the Control Panel in the Main  
  24. window. Select Fonts utility and click on the Add...Button. Choose the  
  25. drive and/or directory to locate he TrueType font (.TTF file). Your font  
  26. should appear in the Installed  Fonts window. Close the dialog box.  
  27. You shouldn't have to restart Windows.

  29. I used the  < and > keystrokes to produce superscripted numbers of 00 and 99  
  30.  to give better visual effect when wanting to show prices ending this way:  
  31.   $3.99, $4.99 or $5.00 etc.  Additional Option-keystroke special characters: 
  32.  
  33.  legal symbols, en and em dashes, ellipses and several diacritical characters 
  34.  
  35.  such as ü é are included.

  37. Double quotes before and after are handled by used and often undiscovered  
  38.  built in keystrokes for making curly quotes instead of typewriter looking  
  39.  quotes (dumb quotes): Option-[ types a beginning double quote and  
  40.  Option-Shift-[ types an end double quote. Option-] types a single beginning  
  41.  quote and Option-Shift-] types an end single quote. Note: Many software  
  42.  programs now have the curly quotes stroke conversion automatically built  
  43.  into their program.

  47.  if you're using Type 1 or TrueType. I'd also like to know where you  
  48.  downloaded/obtained the font: AOL, CompuServe, a MacUsers' Group or BBS,  
  49.  Shareware Disk or CD-Service, etc.  If you SHARE this font, please include  
  50.  all files and documents in one folder. I'm especially pleased with response  
  51.  from professional DTP users AND MacUser Groups and  BBS members.

  53. I currently teach drawing, painting, printmaking, year book DTP, and  
  54.  commercial art to future artists, possibly typographers (alias) high school  
  55.  students; and  produce serious art for local, regional and national juried  
  56.  exhibitions, and I golf.  I enjoy receiving samples/copies of work in which  
  57.  my fonts are used (an ad, layout, poster, brochure, newsletter etc.).  I  
  58. show  
  59.  the works to students -- they enjoy seeing what real people are really doing 
  60.  
  61. in the real world today with computers, DTPublishing and graphic design,  
  62.  especially on a Mac.

  72. Since creating my first font SnyderSpeed Brush (11/91 v.1 upper case  
  73. only), the encouragement of shareware fees and/or input from users,  
  74. allowed me to update SnyderSpeed by adding lower case (1/92), plus  
  75. create OregonWet (on AOL's Nov. 91 top download's list), OregonDry,  
  76. MarkerFeltThin 2/92, MarkerFeltWide 4/92 (used by Aldus Magazine's "New  
  77. Comics" article, pgs.18-20 July/Aug '92 issue) and StarsAndStripes 7/92;  
  78. updates to MarkerFelt Thin v2, MFWide v2 and (SnyderSpeed Brush v3  9/92  
  79. and ComicsCarToon 10/92 (featured in Aldus Magazine 3/93), both top  
  80. downloads; NeedlePointSew 11/92; MarkerFinePoint 3/93. Fonts are  
  81. available both in Type 1 and  True Type Formats on AOL and CServe for  
  82. the Mac.

  85. planned for uploading by May1993 via CServe modem, DTP forum; and in  
  86.  Oregon via Night OWl BBS (503) 267-4338 which to date has no connect
